What is compost?

Today for writing I was learning to structure. I was also learning about composting. First I needed to watch a video and read 2 books about composting. After that we made a copy on a Google doc and we made a plan about composting. Then we started writing about composting by using our plans.

I enjoyed writing about compost because I found it really interesting. I found it complicated to find a WOW fact about composting. My digital learning object shows that I can copy my Doc and post it onto my blog.

Please see my writing bellow:

Composting

Do you want to save the planet? Well composting is an environmentally friendly way to do it.

What is it?

Compost is good for using it in your garden because it improves soil structures. You also put yard waste, worms, kitchen scraps, bugs and water into your compost bin.

How is it made?

Compost is made from leaves, dead flowers, grass clippings and more. There are two different composts, green and brown. Greens include fresh grass clippings, picked weeds and kitchen scraps. Browns include dried grass, fall leaves, and flowers. You can stack the browns and greens in layers then put bugs, fungi and water on top.

The benefits of composting

Using compost in your garden can improve the soil and increase the amount of oxygen to plants. Composting is also good for the environment.

Wow facts

Did you know that Compost has been around for 12,000 years?!
