This week my group was learning how to use a hook to hook a reader in with our writing! We were only writing our introduction of our story, so that is why the writing you will see below is not finished. The teacher first gave us a Y chart to brainstorm our writing on. After we finish brainstorming we had to go on the mat to write our writing. Then we had peer assessment with someone that is close to your age to do your assessment with you.
We had to glue in our learning intention in our writing book. My learning intention was using onomatopoeia (sound), dialogue (talking), short sharp sentences and describe the setting. I feel like i did pretty well on my learning intention, except dialogues. My next goal is to master my dialogues.
For our peer assessment we had to read our writings to each other and then we give two medals and a mission. I enjoyed writing the hook of my writing. I found it tricky to finish the writing in time but in the end, I finished it!
Did my writing hook you in? If not, please give me some tips on how to make it better! Here is my writing!
"Da-Dum! The sun was shining brightly as I slowly approached the stage.
Am I nervous?
Yes
Was I scared?
Yes
Why?
One reason people were shouting at me!''
